Margaret M. Luciano, Ph.D.

Margaret M. Luciano is an Associate Professor of Management and Organization and BNY Mellon Faculty Fellow at Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business, where she teaches organizational behavior and teams-related courses.

 

Her research examines the dynamics and effectiveness of teams, leaders, and complex systems, with a focus on healthcare settings.​ Recently her work was honored for her contributions to the study of teams (2022 INGRoup Early Career Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Study of Groups) using innovative research designs and mixed methods approaches (2022 Sage Publications/Research Methods Division Lawrence R. James Early Career Award).

Multiteam systems are comprised of multiple teams that work interdependently to achieve one or more shared goals.

They are a unique form of organizing that spans traditional team and organizational boundaries, which are particularly well-suited for dynamic and complex environments.

My teams strives to help healthcare teams improve their functioning with pervasive, comprehensive, and sustainable changes.
